Kim Sangwoo (김상우), more commonly known as Roy Kim (로이킴), is a 20 year old singer/songwriter under the record label "CJ E&M". I first heard his music when a friend decided to sing me a song to cheer me up, and ever since that moment I have been a fan of the works produced by Roy Kim.
Sometimes the pressures of winter, school, or work can become too much to handle. Roy Kim's angelic voice, upbeat songs and bright music videos always make me feel comfortable and warm in times of an icy body or heart. His song 봄봄봄 (Bom Bom Bom) or "Spring Spring Spring" has a country-like sound to it that is surprisingly charming to me (though I am not personally a fan of country music). His songs seem to have a common theme. Repetition of the title in multiples of three makes up a majority of the lyrics in his songs. This may seem boring but it's actually used quite effectively in his songs and has earned him a notable position as a singer and songwriter in South Korea; his songs include Bom Bom Bom and Love Love Love.
Do you have a go-to song that relaxes you?
